ATE Journal of Māori Art was launched in June 2019 by co-editors Matariki Williams (Ngāi Tūhoe, Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāti Hauiti, Taranaki) and Bridget Reweti (Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāi Te Rangi). ATE is an annual, peer-reviewed journal with an explicit focus on Māori art, artists and art movements. Content for Volume Four reflects understandings of Tūrangawaewae. Volume Four portrays the depth of ngā toi Māori throughout Aotearoa with articles about HOEA! Gallery and Project Space, Waikato artists, Toi Tūwharetoa and AWA: He Uru Mānuka, He Uru Kānuka. We are also pleased to include a poem and artwork by sisters Rangimarie and Caitlin Jolley and interviews with tertiary educators and photographers Conor Clarke, Erena Baker-Arapere, Emily Parr and Dr Natalie Robertson. Edited By Bridget Reweti.
