Draw or work on your own project in the glow of He Hokinga Mahara, while author Stacey Kokaua reads aloud from Āpai-marie, a book she wrote in collaboration with Georgina May Young and Sean Norling in 2023.
Upcoming Event
Detail image of the artwork Wakatiputipu (2025) by Georgina May Young, overlaid with an animation by Rock Neon Young Norling.
Āpai-marie tells the story of Georgina’s art practice like it is a fairytale. We meet the environments and materials involved in her creative process, and encounter Pikipiki, a kindred being who lives at the edge of an Ōtepoti forest…
This is an informal, drop-in session. Stay for the whole time, or just a little while. Pencils and paper will be provided, BYO materials if you wish. All ages are welcome to attend.
