Respond in zine-form to the artworks and themes in the exhibition Disposable Gestures by Priscilla Rose Howe and Liam Krijgsman.
This workshop is free to attend. It will take place from 2pm-3pm on Saturday 4 October, 2025.
This is an exhibition about the disgusting backdrop of capitalism; the strops that hold up the facade of wealth. One artwork endlessly rotates and repeats, conceals and reveals. The other artworks collect objects and viscera on their surfaces, layering up and tearing open.
We'll draw on these actions to generate paper-based responses. Outcomes might take the form of mini-zines or single pages. They may be purely visual or contain writing.
Participants will have access to paper, pens, pencils, pastels, scrap fabric, and a photocopier during the workshop.
Participants have the option to donate their responses to a collaborative zine, which Blue Oyster will assemble and publish late-October 2025.
