Past Exhibition

The Latin adverb sic, literally meaning, “thus” or in full, sic erat scriptum, “thus it was written”, is inserted immediately after a quoted word, phrase or larger text, to indicate that the quotation has been transcribed exactly as found in the original source, complete with any erroneous, archaic or other nonstandard forms of presentation.

Langdon-Pole’s [sic] has involved the removal of all of the lights, fixtures and other light generating devices from the household of an unknown writer. These objects have then been reinstalled in the gallery both to illuminate the space of the exhibition and to provide the knowledge that somewhere there is a writer’s house with no lights.
