A familiar name to Blue Oyster, Teresa Andrew presents new work as a critique on social responsibilities and directly, child poverty in Aotearoa in give us this day... . A prolific and seasoned Performance Artist throughout her career, Andrew uses the body and object in response to one another, this time, as mother, mentor, carer and teacher. Reiterating her interest in the body and its function within multiple constraints, Andrew deploys materials associated with basic healthcare, presenting an offering as much as she does a confrontation.
Teresa Andrew is an Ōtepoti-based Installation and Performance Artist whose work is about the body, both the present and absent and as the locus of control. Previous exhibitions include: (dis) placement , with Cushla Donaldson, Layne Waerea and Motoko Kikkawa curated by Fresh and Fruity and organised alongside Trans/forming feminisms: media, technology, identity symposium , University of Otago, Dunedin (2015); wee hiccup curated by Ana Terry, Blue Oyster Art Project Space (2006).
