Blue Oyster Art Project Space exists to enable artists, writers and curators to work in an innovative, experimental and non-commercial environment.

Established in 1999 Blue Oyster aims to broaden an interest in and understanding of contemporary art by providing a diverse and energetic forum for critical dialogue around an annual programme of exhibitions, projects, events and publications. Known nationally and internationally for presenting high calibre programming we have a proud history of supporting emerging practitioners who have become some of Aotearoa’s most groundbreaking artists.

We are supported by Creative New Zealand and Dunedin City Council, and rely on the generous and visionary support of philanthropic donations, which is integral to our ability to support artistic development in diverse ways.
