As a jeweller Ilse-Marie Erl explores issues of craft practice, bodily adornment and fetishism. Her exhibition Les Objects du Desir presents a number of neck pieces made out of both human hair sourced from strangers through newspaper advertisements, and artificial hair. These twists and plaits of hair are displayed in museum vitrines, evoking historical modes of museum display and referencing the presentation of artefacts.
